36 hours in. the lights are flickering and the sweat is pouring out of you like the thoughts that you re trying to write down, to get down the words, to put down the message, to translate all the ideas that keep appearing in your head. ideas like uninvited guests that keep showing up and refusing to leave. somewhere though, there s a truth in there. you know it because you saw it. you know it because you felt it. because when you knew that even though there were ten million reasons why you should go to bed now, why you should go to bed straight away. that you should put these silly things down and stop trying to create and just get some sleep already. that you should stop trying to wrestle the ideas in your subconscious down to the ground so you can actually capture and express them to others. but you persist.

i am a pianist, composer, improviser, performing artist and a multitasking musician in life, currently living and working in reykjavik. i was born 1978 in seydisfjördur, iceland and have been playing the piano and keyboards since age of 9. my main focus and interest is in improvisation, composition and performance of music. how improvisation and composition can meet effortlessly as a creation of musical ideas and sounds. i am also thoughtful of the general passion & drive behind creation of things, in what way they are presented and passed on to people, in music, arts and life in general. since childhood i ve collaborated with a whole spectrum of artist, from obscure troubadours in the countryside to stadium bands, covering all fields og music, both in iceland and abroad. i have also composed and arranged a great deal of music for theater, film, art installations, performances and videos of all kinds. released my first album rask in 2002, and now i am currently composing and working on a series of records with solo piano music for radio bongo with improvised piano works i (broadcast01) as the first radio bongo release.

gogo music is ten years old, and now is celebrating its 50th release. this time it is a great collaboration between ralf gum and robert owens. ralf gums mix is a deep track that start with percussive groove. deep, fat bassline under elettro synths perfect for dancefloor. the remix is under dj spinnas knowledge with same ingredients but more deep and hypnotic. useless to comment robert owens voice. always useful instrumental and beat versions. a package to have ... for sure in top 10.

the sccucci manucci label has done a fine job of handpicking artists on the rise for their releases to date, collaring the likes of casino times, francis inferno orchestra and toomydisco as well as the odd established name like jacques renault. the labels fourth release forza quattro is still grounded in the disco/house sensibility that has served them so well, though the presence of waze & oddysey demonstrates the sccucci a & r team are willing to deviate. the elusive us pair are in the midst of a hot patch right now with releases already burning on body work and southern fried and plenty more due over the coming months, so their presence here is a real coup. i cant hear you sounds vaguely like a extra bouncy cover of the classic rip groove and definitely ranks alongside their output to date. alongside this the white vinyl ep has tempo traversing contributions from fil lavin, sellouts and deadly sins, with the latters slow and chuggy -dont you know- a particular highlight
